Bokser

Fearing he might repeat his father’s mistakes, a promising young boxer — portrayed by Eryk Kulm Jr. — flees communist Poland, chasing the dream of becoming the best boxer in history. With only his wife by his side, he soon realizes the fight for his dream will be harder than expected. After months of struggling with the challenges of immigrant life, the Polish boxer agrees to take part in a rigged match — one that will change his life forever.

The year is 1995, Bytom. Jędrzej (Eryk Kulm) returns to the place where it all began — his uncle Czesiek’s (Eryk Lubos) boxing club. As memories flood back to his childhood, he recalls his father Edwin (Michał Żurawski), a boxer who briefly found happiness after winning the Polish Championship. But it was the last triumph of his career — soon he lost everything, focusing all his attention on pushing his teenage son toward education.

Jędrzej longed for his father’s pride, but before he could prove himself, his father passed away. From that moment, he no longer cared about knowledge — the only thing he wanted was to fight, and his uncle saw an opportunity in that fire…
